Honesty stories for kids

Stories where telling the truth is hard and the characters do it anyway. They're a good way into a chat about fibs without it turning into a lecture.

Talking about honesty at home

  • Praise the truth-telling, not just the outcome: "Thank you for telling me. That was brave."
  • Ask what might happen if the character had lied instead.
  • Share a time you told the truth when it was hard.

A family activity

Play 'True or Silly?': take turns saying sentences and decide together which are true and which are silly.
